What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from August 2026. ERO rated the school Excelling for attendance, for engagement and belonging, and for support of students with additional needs, and Doing well in each of its other areas.

Most students achieve at the expected level in reading and maths, meeting the government’s 80 percent target, and a large majority do so in writing.

Almost all students attend regularly, results are similar across groups of students, and ERO pointed to effective teaching, careful tracking of progress and a broad curriculum that draws on Enviroschools, te ao Māori and the local area.

The next steps are to strengthen internal evaluation so leaders and teachers check closely whether every student is progressing and act to speed up learning where needed, to teach students at every year level to reflect on their learning and set their own goals, and to fully bring in the revised English and maths curriculums, with leaders observing classes and giving feedback so teaching is consistent.

Enrolling

The school has no home zone, so any student can apply and there is no ballot. Families fill in an enrolment form, linked from the school’s enrolment page or available from the office, and show their child’s birth certificate.

New entrants can visit their class before they start, and the school arranges these visits with families as the child nears five.
