What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from September 2026. ERO rated the school Excelling, its highest judgement, in 13 of the 16 areas it judges, including achievement, progress, equity, teaching, curriculum, leadership and governance, and Doing well for reading and writing, attendance and assessment. It found that almost all students gain NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3 and University Entrance, that results are equitable across groups, and that almost all Year 9 and 10 students are at expected levels in literacy and numeracy.

Most students attend regularly, close to the Government’s 80% target, and ERO also found a well-coordinated pastoral system, strong support for students with additional needs and well-run provision for international students.

ERO’s next steps are to agree and embed a graduate profile, designed with students, whānau and staff, setting out the knowledge, skills and values the school expects of its students; to strengthen transitions so learning and wellbeing carry on smoothly through the school; and to give students a framework for tracking their own progress and setting goals.

Enrolling

Lindisfarne College is a state-integrated school with an enrolment scheme. Preference places go to families with a connection to the college’s special character, and day boys need to live in the school’s home zone.

Non-preference places are offered only after all preference applicants are placed, and places within an oversubscribed priority group are decided by ballot. The scheme says the closing date for applications is advertised in a newspaper each year.

Families can register a son from birth through the online enrolment form, which adds his name to the waitlist, and there is no enrolment fee. Attendance dues apply under the school’s integration agreement, as set out with its fees.
