Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from November 2025. ERO found an inclusive school where students are valued and their wellbeing is looked after closely, with daily check-ins for every student, a consistent approach to behaviour, a wide range of sport and cultural activities, growing ties with whānau, hapū and iwi, and good support for students with complex needs. The board reflects its community, and structured literacy is under way.
ERO also found that achievement needs to improve. Just over half of students arrive behind the expected curriculum level, and less than a third meet or exceed it in reading, writing or mathematics, with results not yet equitable across groups.
A small majority attend school regularly, below the Government’s target, and the school is not yet making progress towards the Government’s 2030 achievement targets. Its priorities are to track each student’s progress across their two years, fully put structured literacy and mathematics in place, make better use of achievement data, grow teachers’ confidence in te reo Māori, and carry out its attendance plan.

Enrolling
Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, with priority for siblings of current and former students, then children of former students and of board employees or members, and by ballot when there are more applicants than places.
Under the scheme, the board advertises the number of out-of-zone places, how to apply and the closing date in a local newspaper. The school’s site sets out the zone boundaries street by street and links to an online enrolment form.
