What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from May 2025. ERO found that success and progress are increasing for all students and that high quality teaching is improving results, with most students at or above the expected level in writing and a large majority in reading and maths, and results equitable across groups.

Progress for students most at risk of not achieving has improved significantly since the previous review. Work on learner attributes and wellbeing support has lifted students’ confidence, engagement and social skills, students have a strong sense of belonging, and structured teaching is in place for reading and writing, with a structured maths programme underway. Attendance is approaching the government’s 80% target, with a suitable plan in place.

The agreed next steps are to build on attendance gains with more specific actions in annual planning, bring in the new literacy and maths curriculum with shared planning so teaching and assessment are consistent across the school, and consult whānau and the community on how well the school’s te ao Māori programme reflects their hopes for their children.

Enrolling

Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places, and the school’s enrolment page says out-of-zone places depend on availability.

Families enrol through the school office, which helps complete the enrolment forms, and new students can make pre-entry classroom visits once enrolment is confirmed.
