Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from October 2025. ERO found high quality teaching and well-established planning, with most students meeting or exceeding the expected curriculum level in reading, a large majority in writing and almost all in maths, and results equitable across groups.
Structured literacy is in place across the school, maths achievement has risen markedly, and writing has improved for Pacific students. ERO also noted an inclusive approach that helps students with additional needs succeed, learning that values students’ language, culture and identity, strong partnerships with whānau, hapū, iwi and the wider multicultural community, and well-embedded internal evaluation.
ERO’s priorities are for the school to lift and sustain regular attendance, which only a small majority of students currently reach although it is improving, continue professional learning in structured maths, bring in assessments that match the updated literacy and maths curriculum, and keep families informed about curriculum changes and how progress is reported.
ERO also found one area of non-compliance, about current police vetting for all staff, which the board has since addressed.

Enrolling
Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, with the board deciding each year how many places are available, and by ballot when there are more applicants than places.
The school asks families to register a child with the office around their fourth birthday and suggests enrolling six months to a year before a child turns 5. Families complete the enrolment form and provide a birth certificate or passport, proof of address and, where needed, a visa, and new entrants are invited to classroom visits before they start.
