Bin collection days for every Hastings suburb, what goes in each bin, and where to drop off everything else.
Hastings homes have a 120 litre rubbish bin and three recycling crates, for paper and cardboard, plastics and cans, and glass, all collected every week. Here is how to find your collection day, what goes in each bin, and where to take everything else.
Have your bins out by 7am on collection day. A few streets differ from the rest of their suburb, so check your exact address with the council’s lookup.

Good to know
My bin wasn't collected. What now?
Call the council on 06 871 5000, or use the missed collection form on the council's collection days page.
Can I pay less if I put my bin out less?
Bins are tagged, so if yours is emptied 26 times or fewer between 1 June and 31 May, you get a rates remission automatically.
Is there a garden waste collection?
No, and garden waste can't go in your rubbish bin. Take it to Henderson Road ($8 minimum, $171 a tonne) or Blackbridge ($8 minimum, $102 a tonne).
What if I'm rural?
Properties outside the kerbside zone have no collection. The lookup shows your nearest Green Bin recycling station.
